I don’t get it, why … I don’t get it, why don’t you fix your bike up before the trip, seems like you are working on it every time you go to a location.
a tip, wiping and … a tip, wiping and cleaning the grease of the bike will make repairs much cleaner and easier.Mechanix gloves work well.simple grease or alcohol wipes
were you mainly on … were you mainly on dirt roads/looking at those knobby tires.they don’t wear well on pavement.
Like who??? Like who???
Stay safe man! Have … Stay safe man! Have ALL the gear for the back and head. Enjoy your journey. I am like Cokecan500; I wish I could spend enough time working on the bike and learning stuff.
Have fun. That KLR is an awesome bike. I own a 2008
I agree with Sven, … I agree with Sven, your awsome dude…
It’s neat what you … It’s neat what you are doing, live the dream man
I wish I could give … I wish I could give you multiple thumbs up for taking on this journey. Keep the videos coming when you can and you’ll have a constant supply of watchers… if the video updates start getting lax then please keep a journal. This is the kind of thing you can write into a book when you get back and I’m sure you will make a few pennies on it… probably enough to retroactively cover the cost of your trip and then some!
1:25 LOWRIDER KLR, … 1:25 LOWRIDER KLR, woot!
Fair balls to you … Fair balls to you man. I’d say that took hours to do and all with fairly basic tools and setup. Loving your daily updates. Keep hold of all your videos and when your finished your full journey do a proper edit and sell your final full length DVD online. Stay safe man!
These time lapse … These time lapse picture videos with commentary are actually very entertaining. Keep em comin.
With the MSR … With the MSR Whisperlite. When lighting it slowly let out just enough fuel to fill the small primer pan at the bottom of the stove and shut the valve off. You’ll still get a flame but it won’t be out of control. and make sure the windscreen is around it so all the heat goes up to heat the loop. Let it burn until its about to go out. Then slowly open the valve, watching for the burner to ignite.
i wish i had the … i wish i had the skills to do all that work on my own bike like you’re able to do..
That’s one of the main reasons I’m sort of reluctant to take it on a long trip. Maybe next summer I’ll have some time to put toward learning a little more about my bike than just oil/filter changes, light replacement, and chain lube
your going to look … your going to look like Jesus. =]
I’m always right =) I’m always right =)
BTW I ended up … BTW I ended up taking my tool tube from my skidplate and putting it in a better location. You’re right, that totally would have gotten smashed.
You’re my hero. You’re my hero.
I am not shaving … I am not shaving throughout the next 7 months. I’m going for the dhobo look
A dab of white … A dab of white paint on the master-link clip will make it more noticable when you are checking to see if it is still on.
I envy you so much! … I envy you so much!! Eventually I’ll get a chance to make a journey like this, but for now I’m content to just follow along. Peace and good luck man
Looks like you got … Looks like you got it. Covered, make sure you have a spair
Bring at least one … Bring at least one extra master link clip with you. I still use that kind of set up on 3 of my bikes. I never had a problem and have had the bikes many, many years. If you do lose one, or the existing one gets sloppy, it’s good to have an extra.
Mark your tire and … Mark your tire and rim so if you have to break it down and change the tube you can get it back on the same spot to keep it balanced.
Are you growing an … Are you growing an epic travel beard? PLEASE DO
good luck bill!! good luck bill!!
