I have several pairs of tire chains and have no idea what size tires they fit. Any ideas?

some are cable and some are chains. Other than going out in the snow and trying them on the tires. How do I now what size the chains will fit?

a 235/75 r15 tire’s circumference (distance around tire’s tread surface) is roughly 90-91 inches. lay them out flat and measure them to see about how long they are in the center. here’s how to figure tire circumference:

ex:235/75 r15

235 (width) X 0.75 (segment ratio) = 176.25

176.25 X 2 (two segments) = 352.5

352.5 / 25.4 (2.54 cm per inch) = 13.87

13.87 + 15 (rim height) = 28.87 (tire and rim height)

28.87 X 3.1415 (pi) = 90.695 ~ 90 or 91 inches
